Testo 830-T2 Infrared Thermometer Review

Based in the heart of Germany’s Black Forest, testo have been producing superb measuring equipment since 1957. We tested out the 830-T2 infrared thermometer and think it’s one of best pyrometers available to the UK market.

It’s a compact and well-made device with a comfortable gun-style grip that makes for easy operation. Our favourite feature has to be that you can connect a temperature probe for contact temperature readings for a truly accurate measurement.

Cocoda Laser Infrared Thermometer Review

Cocoda have put their name on an impressive number of useful gadgets, especially their instant read thermometers and in car accessories. We got hold of their DT8550J infrared thermometer and tested it out on some heated surfaces.

The range of the IR sensor is the first thing we noticed- with an impressive 12:1 spot distance ratio you don’t have to hold it right up to the thing you want to read, which we think’s really handy.

The construction of the hand grip feels sturdy and the trigger has a nice action to it as well, but our favourite part is that it has the best laser thermometer screen out of all the devices we tested, the backlight means it can be used in the darkest environments.
