Caring for wood
Wooden products do require regular treatment if they are to stay looking their best. The treatment you choose will depend on whether you are treating exterior or interior wood. You should clean your wood before applying treatments. To remove and dirt, grease or mould, you should use wood floor cleaners like Method Wood for Good Floor Cleaner Almond. If the wood is varnished or painted this finish will need to be removed before you can apply products such as oils and waxes. Then apply the product according to the manufacturer’s instructions being sure to follow any safety precautions.
Caring for leather
Leather can fade, dry, crack and become hard if it not treated regularly. You should clean your leather item with a product such as saddle soap if it is really dirty. Otherwise, a wipe down with a suitable mild detergent will be fine. Allow the leather to dry thoroughly before applying treatments.

You should follow the instructions on your product paying particular attention to any safety precautions. However, in general, you will need to follow these steps.
- Clean the surface to of the wood to remove dust, dirt and grease.
- Soak a soft cloth with the oil and wipe onto the wood surface working in the direction of the grain. You should be fairly liberal, especially on any particularly dry areas.
- Leave the oil to soak into the wood for about 20 minutes
