Stanley 1-92-980 FatMax Telescopic Sawhorse Review
The Stanley FatMax Sawhorse is another of the few sawhorses that works as well on uneven ground as it does on the flat. The telescopic legs can be raised or lowered individually by up to 21.5 cm each, making this the best trestle table for challenging conditions.
Folding in half, the Stanley FatMax Sawhorse is easily stored with other tools, but it still offers more than a metric ton of load weight for seriously heavy applications.
The adjustable legs with non-slip rubber feet are what make this sawhorse stand out, and because you can raise it up, it has to be the best saw horse for tall users.

Faithfull Set of 2 Steel Trestles Review
This Faithfull Set of trestle strips back the branding and gives you a solid and more traditional workplace in Q195 structural steel. We found the trestles to be built solidly and are the best trestle scaffolding for DIYers and light commercial users.
Even though there was some assembly required on delivery, it was simple enough to put the trestles together and get them ready for use. When finished, the trestles can be folded flat for storage and fit into the back of a medium-sized car without issue.

Stanley Folding Junior Sawhorse Review
The Stanley Junior Sawhorse is by far the lightest pair of trestles on the list, coming in at half the weight of any of the other saw horses on this list. We thought they had an impressive load weight for how easy they were to move around, which makes them our best saw horse for light work.
The Stanley Sawhorse folds flat for storage or transport, and the inbuilt grooves allow you to create a stable work platform easily. From our experience, the plastic construction has a side benefit as well: when you inevitably saw into them, they won’t break your blade.
What sets both the Stanley trestles apart from the others, are the handy shelves underneath that help keep your small tools from getting lost on the jobsite. You’ll find a hundred used for them.

Excel Steel Saw Horse Adjustable Legs Twin Pack Review
With rugged powder coated and galvanised steel parts throughout, our standout favourite and best builder’s trestle has to be the Excel Steel Sawhorse. As the name suggests, we found this to be incredibly well made and packed with useful features.
The feature we really loved during testing were the clips on the legs that allowed sheet materials like plasterboard or OSB to be held up at an angle, and the grippy tops of the trestles that kept materials from slipping off.
Not only is it tough and versatile, but the Excel Sawhorse folds down to a tiny size, which suits builders and DIYers of all kinds. Add a couple of pieces of 2 x 4 timber to the integral grooves and create a strong table to work from as well.

VonHaus Steel Saw Horse Trestles Review
This pair of trestles from VonHaus are just right when you want steel construction in a light and portable package. With hand carry handles and legs that fold up into the body, they are the best trestle scaffolding for medium duty work.
When you need to plane the bottom from a door or cut large sheet materials, the VonHaus trestles are ideal. We really liked the non-slip surface, and found that materials didn’t slide when we started sawing.
How to Choose The Best Trestle Table
Having a stable worktop is essential when carrying out any type of building work or home DIY project. Supporting building materials or creating a work station at the correct height are both possible with saw horses, so let’s take a look at what makes the best trestles.
Features to Look For
Trestle tables, fold down tables or collapsible tables like the Stanley FatMax Sawhorse and Faithfull Steel Trestles are an essential accessory on a jobsite and come in handy around the house as well. When you need a table or workspace, the best trestle table is one that you can make yourself.
One of the most useful features of a pair of saw horses like the VonHaus Steel Saw Horse Trestles are the integral grooves that allow you to lay timbers between them to create a collapsible table with minimal tools and materials.
Another feature of the best builder’s trestles are telescopic legs. You’ll be lucky to find a flat surface on a building site, or even in your garden, so being able to create a stable platform no matter what the ground is like underneath is a real bonus.
Construction
Long gone are the days of heavy steel trestles that take up most of the room in your garage, or flimsy plastic ones that can barely hold themselves up. Modern plastics are surprisingly strong for their weight, as you can see in the Stanley Junior Sawhorse.
You won’t regret having non-slip feet or grippy trestle tops either. Sheet materials have an annoying habit of sliding around on trestles otherwise, and can lead to making costly mistakes when cutting with power tools.
