The handle on the Faithfull drill press vice is nicely knurled for grip and the locking mechanism is pretty clever, so we think this is the best drill press vice for larger drill presses.

Katsu are a solid budget tool brand and their Katsu Pillar Bench Drill Vice is the biggest and heaviest on the list without being too big for our pillar drill.

The finish is not as refined as the more expensive options, but the vice action worked smoothly straight from the box with no greasing needed, and we’re sure it will hold up to a lot of hard work.

We liked the machined vice jaws on the Katsu drill press and the sliding bar grip made tightening a doddle. It’s the best drill press vice for the UK market at this price point.

Silverline are a familiar brand to most handy people in the UK, and this Silverline 380677 mini drill press vice is lightweight and good for fine work.

The drill press  vice jaws have a v-shaped groove cut into them that creates a useful central point that should hold round objects securely, which thought was useful on a small gauge vice.

Our favourite feature on this Silverline vice press that set it apart from the rest of the list was the quick release button. It can be a pain having to screw a vice all the way in and out all the time, so the hand button on the top saved us time when switching between workpieces.

We think it’s definitely the best drill press vice on this list for ease of use.

When you have a really delicate drilling job to do, large drill presses are often too cumbersome and don’t offer the fine tuning you need.

This Yakamoz mini drill press vice on the other hand, is small enough to work on jewellery and watches without a problem. We liked the extra plastic turret posts that let us hold irregular shapes for drilling.

Although the build quality wasn’t up there with the likes of the Faithfull drill press, we think this is the best drill press vice for fine work and model making.
