Chicken Weathervane Review
The Verdemax 2899 Gallo Weathervane is a traditional cockerel weathervane that looks great on farm buildings or sheds. The Gallo Weathervane withstands bad weather, and the bright colours are eye catching, stylish, and they won’t fade in bright sunshine.
This weathervane is incredible value, and it comes with a choice of mounting plates. One is a socket so it can fit neatly onto a pole and mounted onto the ground, while the other is a flat circular plate so it can be mounted onto flat surfaces.
While this weathervane is made from plastic, you may not get as much durability as you would with others. However, it’s lightweight, easy to set up and great to look at.

The East2Eden Dark Metal Witch Wind Weathervane has an engaging witch and broomstick design that the whole family will love. It compliments every garden and it’s very easy to assemble.
This weathervane comes with a ground spike so it can be easily fixed to fences, poles or posts. It moves in the slightest of breezes and is made from quality metals that are built to last.
As one of the best value weathervanes on the market, this is ideal if you have a smaller budget. However, while it is good quality, it may not last as long as other more expensive weathervanes.

Weathervane Buyer’s Guide
A weathervane is a beautiful addition to the roof of your home, and most models are loved as much for their intricate designs as they are for their usefulness! But buying the best weathervane for your household comes with a few considerations, and if you want it to last you’re going to need to choose the right one.
Design
Weathervanes come in a range of designs, from traditional cockerels to the weird and wacky. From witches and broomsticks, to almost any animal you can think of, to cars and boats, you’ll be able to find a weathervane in almost any design – the hard part is choosing the one you like best!
Material
Weathervanes come in a wide range of materials so be mindful of the quality. Plastic weathervanes are a lot cheaper but probably won’t stand up to really bad weather, and they won’t be as durable.
More expensive weathervanes might be made from wood, steel, aluminium or even brass. Wooden weathervanes will need to be treated. Generally, steel is the most durable and often comes coated with anti rust.
Size
You don’t want your weathervane to be too in-your-face, nor do you want it to be unnoticable. Smaller weathervanes are suitable for sheds and annex style buildings, but they may be a little too subtle for larger houses. A weathervane that’s too large will look garish.
If your weathervane is going to be placed high up, you’ll need something larger so that you can easily see it. If it’s just going to be in your garden, a smaller design will look better.
Ease of Fixing to Shed or Outdoor Building
Most weathervanes will be easy to fix, with some coming with a couple of options for mounting. The most versatile weathervanes will be able to be fixed to both horizontal and vertical structures – so your roof or your garden wall. Ensure you take all safety precautions if you are fixing your weathervane high above ground.
