While I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t make use of the brush attachment, I was still extremely impressed with the Bosch EasyAquatak 120. It may look small and compact, but it’s powerful and highly efficient, more so than many of the larger and bulkier machines out there, making this one ideal for so many different tasks.

Bosch produces a range of different electric pressure washers, one of which is the Bosch EasyAquatak 120 High-Pressure Washer. This machine has been designed to tackle small to medium cleaning tasks around the home and garden, from washing cars to clearing patios to cleaning garden furniture.

Bosch usually ensures that the assembly process for their products is as user-friendly as possible, so I was happy to find that this pressure washer was in line with that.

The first step was plugging the hose into the main unit. It has a straight push connection, rather than a screw-in one, which I always find faster and easier. Next, I connected the lance, and then I attached the gun – again, this is a simple push and turn connection.

Finally, I connected the nozzle by pushing it into place and then lining the square keys up to lock it there. After this, it was ready to be connected to my electricity supply (an extension lead connected to the mains electricity in my house) and my outdoor water supply. You’ll need a standard hose connector for this.

All in all, very simple – assembling this pressure washer took less than ten minutes.

Design

The first thing that I noticed about this pressure washer (other than its signature green, black, and red Bosch colours) was its size. It is very compact, much more so than any of the other pressure washers that I tested – some of the others were literally more than double the size. The hose and lance can be secured tightly against the body of the machine, meaning that the overall size doesn’t change much even when you leave these attached, making it very handy for storage.

Bosch provides a 5m cable and a 5m hose with this machine – I was curious as to whether I would find both of those to be on the short side when using the pressure washer.

In addition to the nozzle and lance that I already fitted when assembling this product, it comes with an additional nozzle, a brush, a detergent dispenser bottle with its own nozzle, and some patio cleaner. While assembling the machine, I also noticed that it had a double water filter, which, in my opinion, is always a good thing as it’ll help to prolong the lifespan of the pressure washer.

From what I can see, the design features on this pressure washer seem to be very similar to those on the other pressure washers that I tested, yet Bosch has managed to fit all of these into a much smaller unit!

Performance

This pressure washer couldn’t really have performed any better. I started by cleaning the dirt off my car, switching between the straight jet and the fan jet depending on which part of the car I was working on. I then attached the detergent dispenser and, again, was very happy with how it functioned. It dispensed the cleaning solution evenly and consistently, meaning that I was able to suds up my car in no time.

I then tried to attach the brush. At this point, I realised that Bosch doesn’t supply the connection that you need to actually connect the brush to the hose, so I ended up using the brush manually, before moving back to the original nozzle to wash all of the soap off.

The power of a pressure washer is measured in bars, with this Bosch machine offering 120 bar of water pressure. This is pretty much in-line with what mid-range pressure washers offer – it’s powerful enough for most tasks around the home, although it definitely isn’t a heavy-duty machine.

When it comes to cleaning a car, 120 bar is plenty, especially when combined with a 1500W motor. This pressure washer feels very powerful, although you do have the option to adjust power if you need to tone things down.

Keep in mind that with high power usually comes noise. This pressure washer isn’t a quiet machine. While I didn’t feel the need to wear ear protection, it’s loud enough to bother nearby neighbours, especially if you plan on using it frequently.

Ease of Use

In my experience, this pressure washer is extremely easy to use. Its compact and lightweight nature definitely plays a big part in this. At just under 5kg, this is a machine that you can easily pick up and move around. I’ve used much heavier pressure washers in the past that can only be wheeled around, meaning that taking them up and down steps, or even storing them, can be very cumbersome.

That said, its lightweight quality did also mean that I accidentally pulled the machine over a couple of times while I was washing my car. However, this didn’t affect anything, especially since I quickly stood it back up each time.

For me, the cable length wasn’t an issue at all, but this is because I was using an extension lead that allowed me to place the main unit anywhere I wanted. The hose length was adequate too – it allowed me to easily manoeuvre my way around my car, but wasn’t too long that it ended up tangled. That said, you could easily swap this over with a longer hose if needed.

It’s also easy enough to switch between different attachments while you’re using this pressure washer – there isn’t too much faff involved!

Versatility

Bosch has designed this pressure washer to be versatile enough to tackle a range of different tasks, and it even comes with a few of the accessories that you’d need to do these. There are also several others that you can buy separately.

The provided detergent dispenser was extremely useful. In addition to using it when washing my car, it would also be handy when washing windows and outdoor furniture.

The brush attachment is also a fantastic idea – this is the only pressure washer that I tested that came with a brush. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with the attachment needed to connect the hose to the brush, and I didn’t have one lying around either. After checking the instruction manual, I saw that Bosch listed the brush as an extra accessory that could be purchased separately, meaning that they didn’t provide any instructions or guidance on how to connect the brush. So, while I couldn’t personally test it out, the brush is a very useful accessory that I’ll soon be buying a connector for.

Something else that adds to this machine’s versatility is how the user can easily adjust water pressure, as well as jet type. This enables you to use the machine on a wider range of items, from heavy metal trailers to delicate wicker furniture.

Value for Money

5

Bosch products can sometimes be a little overpriced, but, in my opinion, this pressure washer isn’t too costly and is truly worth every penny.

This is a powerful and incredibly versatile machine that will no doubt prove to be useful in so many different ways. The fact that it comes with a few different accessories is a bonus – many pressure washers don’t.

Plus, it’s also a Bosch product, so you know that customer service will be good, spare parts will be easy to find, and the machine will withstand the test of time.
