Paxcess Electric High Pressure Washer Review

Written by: - Gardening Expert

It can sometimes be a bit unnerving paying for a product from a relatively new and unknown brand, especially when some of the bigger-name models cost a little less. However, in the case of the Paxcess Electric High Pressure Washer, this would be a risk worth taking. This was such an enjoyable product to review because of how Paxcess has made an effort to offer something a little different. Granted, it may not be the one for you if you need a pressure washer that comes with a long list of accessories, but if your priorities are power and simplicity, then this innovative machine would be a worthy buy.

Compared to some of the other pressure washer brands out there, Paxcess is relatively new to the market. This Chinese company has been around since 2015, and while they may not have a huge range of products for sale, they’ve made a name for themselves with the products that they’ve chosen to focus on.

One of these is the Paxcess Electric High Pressure Washer. This machine has been designed to clean just about anything around the home and garden, from cars and fences to windows, roofs, and garden paths. So, I decided to put it to the test by using it to give my car and my trailer a much-needed clean.

Assembly

The other four pressure washers that I tested didn’t require any tools for assembly. Unfortunately, the Paxcess had to be different. To be fair, the only tool that you’ll need is a screwdriver – both the hose hook and the handle need to be screwed to the main unit.

After this, everything else can be pushed and twisted together, from attaching the lance to the gun and then attaching the gun to the hose. You then screw the hose onto the front of the main unit, before connecting the pressure washer to your electricity supply (I used an extension lead) and your water supply (I used a garden hose running from an outdoor tap). Assembly took just over 10 minutes in total.

Once I was done, I noticed that there was still a long pin-type thing in the box that I hadn’t used. A quick look at the instruction manual taught me that this was for clearing debris from the nozzle of the pressure washer, which I thought was a nice touch!

Design

There are a few design features that set this Paxcess pressure washer apart from (and above) the other pressure washers that I reviewed. The first was how the machine has been fitted with a brass connection for the hose, rather than the plastic connection that all of the others had. It goes without saying that brass is much more durable than plastic, so this, to me, is a sign of quality.

It was also interesting to see that the hose that comes with this pressure washer doesn’t necessarily need a tap or a garden hose to connect to. It has a suction function that enables you to place it into a bucket of water instead.

Another area where this pressure washer stands out is with its hose and cable length. At 6m for each, this is a metre longer than all of the other pressure washers that I tested.

Now for where this pressure washer slightly falls short – its filter. Unlike the Bosch EasyAquatak and the Karcher K2, for example, the Paxcess only has a single filter. This isn’t a huge issue, but it does mean that you’re more likely to end up with gunk in your machine, which will shorten its lifespan.

Other than that, this pressure washer looks and feels like a sturdy, well-built machine. It’s pretty compact in shape and size, has hooks and reels to keep the cable and hose tidy, and has wheels for easy manoeuvrability.

Performance

I could feel this pressure washer’s power as soon as I turned it on. I switched the nozzle over to the low pressure setting and gave my car a wash, before connecting up the detergent bottle that came with the machine. This works well – it shoots the soapy water mixture quite a distance, so you’ll need to stand back! After this, I detached the bottle, turned the pressure up, and rinsed my car clean.

All in all, pretty much everything that you could need when using a pressure washer to wash your car. The fact that this one offers 120 bar water pressure is pretty impressive – the only pressure washer that I tested that offered more than this was the VonHaus at 135 bar. Just like the VonHaus, this Paxcess pressure washer has a powerful motor too – 1500W is larger than many of the competing models.

Once my car was clean, I tested the pressure washer out on my trailer. Again, it worked well. There was a fair bit of solid dirt that needed to be shifted, and this pressure washer, when used on its maximum pressure setting, was able to do just that.

Ease of Use

In some ways, this pressure washer was far easier to use than the others. This is because of the fact that Paxcess has kept it simple. There’s only one spray gun/nozzle, so you won’t need to waste time swapping these over, and that nozzle itself offers just two pressure settings, plus an extra mode for when you’re using the bottle attachment.

The 6m hose and cable is also a nice added touch. To be fair, I didn’t really notice the extra one metre compared to the other pressure washers that I tested, but this could make a big difference to anyone who wants to use the machine without an extension lead or garden hose.

I also appreciated the lightweight quality of this pressure washer. Granted, at 7.36kg, it’s not the lightest that I tested, but it’s still easy enough to pick the machine up and move it around to where you need it, meaning that you probably won’t need to use its wheels.

Versatility

4

As mentioned, this pressure washer is pretty simple to use, which, in some ways, is great. However, the fact that it lacks extra accessories detracts from its versatility. Not only are there none supplied with the pressure washer (other than the bottle and the spray gun), but there also aren’t any available to buy separately.

For some, this won’t matter. However, if you were hoping for a telescopic pipe to clean out your gutters or a brush for scrubbing your patio, you’ll need to go with a different brand (check out Bosch or Karcher).

While that may be the case, this pressure washer makes up for its lack of accessories by being versatile in other areas. As mentioned, the hose has a suction feature that allows you to use the pressure washer with a bucket. This gives you so much more freedom, as you’ll be able to use the machine in areas that don’t have a nearby water connection.

Some pressure washers can only be used with cold water, but this one can take the heat too, up to 60°C. Again, this extends its range of uses, particularly when it comes to effectively cleaning oil, grease, and algae.

Value for Money

5

In many ways, this pressure washer offers great value for money. With this machine, you get a number of features that many other pressure washers don’t offer, from the longer hose and cable to the suction ability of the hose. You also get great water pressure and a large motor – again, in both of these areas, Paxcess beats many of its competitors.

The only downside to the value of this pressure washer is its lack of accessories, but, as mentioned, it makes up for this by being versatile in other ways.
