Growing up on an arable farm, the great outdoors has always been a big part of my life. After graduating from university, I spent 6 months waitressing to save up for a flight to Japan. A few thousand Cherry Blossoms later, I was even more hooked on the outdoors than I was before. Next up, Thailand and South East Asia, followed by another 6 months waitressing in New Zealand, and a 4 month stint around South America.
After returning home, I did what a lot of graduates do and moved to London. While I loved the 2 years I spent working in the city, the countryside and its relaxed way of life was calling my name. I knew that it was only a matter of time before I moved to the countryside permanently, with a perfect outdoor space my number one priority.
I have been one of DIY Garden’s writers since leaving London in 2018 and have loved sharing my own advice on how to make your garden a place to be proud of. I’d love to help others create an outdoor space that will take the edge off a difficult day, whether you have a large garden in the countryside or you’re crammed into a tiny house with strangers in South East London!Â
Having just moved to a new place with a back garden that’s crying out for some TLC, I am looking forward to putting all I’ve learned over the last few years into practice.
